Former president of Israel Shimon Peres has sadly passed away today, aged 93.
The 1994 Nobel Peace Prize laureate suffered a stroke two weeks ago. Doctors were initially confident of his recovery, but Mr. Peres’ health deteriorated rapidly last Friday. He passed away earlier today.
Shimon Peres was the ninth President of Israel, and he remained in office from 2007 to 2014.
