Gardaí in Limerick City have confirmed that an investigation is currently ongoing after they received reports that woman was trying to sell her young child recently.
The shocking incident which occurred on February 15th in the South of the city was reported to the Gardaí after concerned members of the public raised the alarm.
A spokesperson for Roxboro Garda station said “Gardaí at Roxboro Road are presently conducting enquiries into the circumstances of the reporting of the incident and possible child welfare issues,”
It is understood the incident occurred outside a well known business premises at approximately 5.10pm.
Gardaí also say they know the identity of the woman and child involved.
