Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after an elderly woman was allegedly raped at a hospital on Christmas Eve.
According to RTÉ News, the incident which was only reported recently is under investigation by Gardai along with the assistance of hospital staff.
It is alleged that the woman aged in her 80s was sexually assaulted by a male worker at the hospital.
Gardaí say a man has been arrested in connection with the incident, but he has since been released without charge.
They added that a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
