Shocking: HSE refusal to disclose records of foster abuse to victim’s family

Abuse victim ‘Sarah’

The family of a young abuse victim known as ‘Sarah’ have been denied access to records from the HSE since 2015.
Sarah was brutally abused in the notorious Grace foster home until she was removed aged 12.

Sarah’s family have been attempting to access the records via solicitors, but the HSE have refused to disclose them, claiming the case is still under review.

Speaking to the Irish Examiner, Sarah’s mother revealed the horrific moment she realised evidence of sexual abuse upon her daughter:

“One Sunday, the kids were gone with Daddy to the water. I was here and we were playing hide and seek and she was laughing and happy. Then, I just said certain words…and Sarah had been schooled and here in front of the fireplace. It was my worst nightmare.”

Sarah’s family are fighting to obtain  the records, which they believe prove a cover-up by the HSE in the handling of the abuse.
