There are reports this afternoon that an Irish holidaymaker sustained serious stab injuries during an attempted robbery in Portugal.
It is understood the incident happened early on Sunday, May 7, in Praia da Rocha, near Portimao.
The man was rushed to hospital for treatment, where his condition is described as serious, but not life-threatening.
Local police are said to be investigating the incident.
