In a truly shocking and horrifying story a 1-year-old girl is in serious condition in hospital after she was shot in the head whist she was traveling in the back seat of a car through Chicago on Friday evening
Reports in the U.S say the tragic shooting occurred in City’s Austin neighbourhood region. It is believed there were a number of people near-by when the shooting occurred, with a number of Neighbours saying they heard several shots.
Chicago Police say the girl was in the back seat of the car at around 4:45 p.m. when someone in a silver vehicle drove past and began firing shots at the car. The bullets went through the trunk and back seat and hit the girl in the head.
Investigators are trying to determine the motive for the shooting, and as of yet no arrests have been made.
It is believed the driver of the vehicle quickly rushed the baby to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, before she was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where her condition is thought to be critical but stable,.
