Police in the UK have launched a full scale murder investigation after the body of an alleged pregnant woman was found with a number of fatal stab wounds.
The body of the unidentified woman believed to be in her 20s was discovered on Holker Street, Bradford, at approximately 5pm yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
West Yorkshire Police say they are following a number of leads and are currently trying to trace a man in connection with the young woman’s death. It has been reported that the young woman was six months pregnant but it has not yet been confirmed by West Yorkshire police.
Meanwhile Detective Chief Inspector Jim Dunkerley, from West Yorkshire Police homicide division has released a statement regarding the tragic death: Chief Dunkerley said: “The body of a woman was found by police and paramedics inside a property on Holker Street. She had suffered fatal stab wounds. “While the murder investigation is at an early stage we are treating this as a domestic related incident. Inquiries are currently ongoing to trace a man in connection with the death. “This was a very serious incident and will understandably cause a considerable amount of distress and upset amongst the local community.
Chief Dunkerley added: “To reassure local people we have increased patrols by neighbourhood officers in the area and I do not believe there is any wider danger to members of the public.”
