Shocking: Report finds twelve missed bowel cancer cases at Wexford General Hospital

In a shocking development it has been revealed that Wexford General Hospital have recalled hundreds of bowel screening patients after a significant number missed cancer diagnosis were identified.

Early reports suggest that there at least a dozen cancer cases due for extensive reviews including that of one probable avoidable death of a male patient.

It is understood that the hospital are currently in process of reviewing around 600 patients who underwent a screening colonoscopy or a diagnostic colonoscopy between the years of 2013 and 2014.

According to management at the hospital: “The recall of all patients and the subsequent report and its findings are in the final stages.”

“Once the report has been signed off it will need to be sent to all referenced parties within it before it can be published.”
