The number of patients left on trolleys in Irish hospitals is due to increase, having reached an all time high yesterday.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) 612 patients were admitted for care and placed on trolleys nationwide. This marks the second time figures have gone over 600.
Overall, the number of patients placed on trolleys last year was 93,621.
Liam Doran, INMO general secretary said: “It’s a disaster of unmitigated proportions as far as I am concerned and I don’t think it’s peaked.”
