University Hospital Kerry has confirmed that a review of over 46,000 scan will take place at the hospital.
It is understood the review of the scans from some 26,000 patients in the region comes after a number of abnormalities were found on some scans in recent months.
Although the hospital has said thankfully there has been no major missed diagnosis have been found, management say the ten week review will take place after there were three reported incidents against an employee during the summer.
The hospital say the discoveries prompted an internal audit of all scans, Cat Scans, X-rays and ultrasounds from March 2016 to July 2017.
