There is widespread outrage this morning after a number of horrific pictures have appeared on the internet showing the lifeless body of young boy believed to be a Syrian refugee lying on a Turkish beach.
THE truly tragic and upsetting images clearly show the young boy lying lifeless on a beach after drowning whilst trying to flee the war torn state, the horrifying photos have many calling for world leaders to intervene and put an end to the crisis. The photos which have appeared in many media outlets and social media sites throughout the world show a dark haired young boy dressed in a red T-shirt and shorts, washed up on a beach, lying face down in the sand close to Bodrum, one of Turkey’s resort towns.
Various media outlets have reported that the young boy is one of at least 12 Syrians who drowned whilst drastically attempting to flee their homeland and reach Greece. The latest heart wrenching incident has highlighted the severe consequences many Syrian families face whilst trying to escape and find a better life. The photo has been trending on social media website Twitter for the last number of hours with the #’Humanity washed ashore.’ posted underneath.
