
If there is something that ministers avoid to do on a regular basis, is getting their hands dirty by tackling the issues they are actually responsible for.
In yet another proof of such axiom, acting Minister for Transport Paschal Donohoe has today refused a meeting with Luas staff, saying that it would be ‘inappropriate’ to do that.
It is understood that Siptu had written a letter to Mr. Donohoe, asking for a meeting to brief him on their concerns about the long-running dispute. The acting minister, however, declined the invitation.
Furter strike dates are planned for May and June unless an agreement between Transdev and drivers is reached.
