“Significant improvement” in waiting times at Dublin airport as passengers won’t need to arrive so early from now on

The DAA has said that travellers will not need to arrive so early at the airport as it is reported that there has been a “significant improvement” in waiting times for security.

According to RTE, passengers are now being advised to arrive 2 hours before short-haul flights and 3 hours before long-haul flights.  The CEO of the DAA, Dalton Philips, has said that there has been a real effort made to bring staffing levels back up to where they were in 2019.

As things improve in terms of waiting times, the Defence Forces have now been stood down as they are no long required.  It is hoped that things will improve further in the short-term so that no passenger will miss their flight due to issues with the waiting times.

It is expected that all of the passengers who missed their flights due to problems at the airport will by compensated in the next few weeks.
