Former priest and popstar, Sinead O’ Connor has taken up yet another career role as she has turned to politics.

The controversial and often outspoken singer made  the announcement on her own personal blog that she plans to join Sinn Féin as she would like to see a ‘proper socialist Ireland’.
Ms O’Connor wrote: “I’m joining Sinn Féin now. If they’ll have me.”
Ms O’Connor also expressed her eagerness to learn and her passion to revolt. She said: “I’d like to be educated as to how ordinary people like me can help bring about the changes which would make every child equally cherished and make everyone have equal rights. I realised the best way to revolt is vote.”
Ms O’Connor then followed her announcment by posting on her Facebook page. Stating: “I joined Sinn Féin today,” “I might not even be the kind of person they want, because I’m gonna write here that I feel the elders of Sinn Féin are going to have to make ‘the supreme sacrifice’ and step down shortly in the same way the last Pope did.”

Surprisingly Sinead has received an overwhelming response to her decision, Ms O’Connor finally signed off stating: “For anyone who is confused, Sinn Féin is no longer associated with the use of violence.”
