Singer Sinead O’Connor’s funeral details revealed to the public with fans able to pay public tribute

Fans of world icon Sinead O’Connor will have the opportunity to pay their last respects on Tuesday as details of the singer’s funeral were announced, reports The Mirror.

Sinead was found dead by Met Police officers on July 26 in a rented flat in Brixton, London. His remains were released to the family last week to prepare for cremation.

In a statement, a family spokesman announced that from 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the funeral procession will depart along the coast at Bray, Sinead’s former home, Montebello, where she has lived for the past 15 years.

The statement reads: “The route will begin at the Harbour Bar end of Strand Road and continue along the seafront to the other end of Strand Road where Sinead and her family will then continue on to a private burial. Sinéad loved living in Bray and the people in it. With this procession, her family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love for her from the people of Co. Wicklow and beyond, since she left last week, to go to another place. The Gardai have asked that people gather, if they would like to say a last goodbye to Sinéad from 10.30am on Tuesday morning along the Bray Seafront,” reports The Mirror.

Sinead’s death sparked worldwide mourning, with vigils held across Ireland and the UK.

Her family said last week they were “devastated” by the death of “beloved Sinead”, reports The Mirror.

Sinead is survived by three children – Jack, Roisin and Yeshua. In January 2022, her 17-year-old son Shane took his own life.
