Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald calls for support on Harris no confidence vote – stating that sorry isn’t sufficient




The leader of the Sinn Féin party Mary Lou McDonald has said that the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar must relieve the Minister for Health Simon Harris from his duties following his handling of information in regards to the National Children’s Hospital overrun.

Spwa in the Dáil following the Health Minister’s apology, Ms McDonald said saying sorry wasn’t sufficient before calling for the removal of Minister Harris from his position.

Ms McDonald also called on Fianna Fáil ministers to support the motion of no confidence despite the party’s leadership stance on the vote.

The Sinn Féin leader called for their support even though she stated that party is willing to sit on their hands when it comes to the issue.

It is expected that Minister Harris will face a motion of no confidence next week.
