Sinn Fein to refocus efforts in NI to bringing abortion on demand at party’s Ard Fheis

The leadership of Sinn Fein will soon attempt to convince the rank and file of its party that they should re-focus their efforts in Northern Ireland towards making abortion on demand available.

Sinn Fein’s annual Ard Fheis will begin this Saturday, June 16th in Belfast and Sinn Fein President Mary Lou McDonald along with her counterpart in Northern Ireland Michelle O’Neil will use the event as an opportunity to push their pro-abortion ideology on the rest of the party.

Many Sinn Fein members including two TD’s have openly rebelled against the party leaderships staunchly pro-abortion stance and their determination to bring abortion on demand for any reason to Northern Ireland is likely to cost the party significant support.

In the past Sinn Fein members have upheld the right of the party’s elected representative to oppose or support abortion legislation according to conscience but Party President McDonald may push for this to end.

One Sinn Fein TD, Carol Nolan, has already been chastised for voting according to conscience when she was suspended for voting against the Dáil motion to hold the referendum on the 8th Amendment.
