Gardaí in Coolock are appealing to the public for information after a six-year-old girl was knocked down on the Malahide Road in Coolock yesterday evening.
It is believed that the incident occurred at the pedestrian crossing on the inbound lane at the Darndale roundabout approximately 7.45pm last night.
The unnamed girl was quickly rushed to Temple St children’s Hospital where her condition is described as very serious.
Gardai say that a van, which has been described as an old dark coloured van possibly green, failed to remain at the scene of the incident and continued driving towards the city centre.
Gardaí say they are appealing for witnesses to the horrific incident.
