Sky has announced that the technical issue affecting its services has been fully resolved, restoring normal access for customers across Ireland and the UK.

The disruption, which began early Thursday morning, impacted a range of Sky services, including broadband, TV, and streaming platforms, leaving many users unable to access their subscriptions. Customers voiced frustration on social media, reporting difficulties with Sky Go and on-demand content, as well as intermittent internet connectivity.

In a statement released today, Sky confirmed that its technical teams had worked around the clock to address the problem. “We are pleased to confirm that the technical issue affecting some of our services has now been resolved, and all systems are back to normal,” the company said. The statement was shared with media outlets and local representatives to reassure affected customers.

The company explained that the issue stemmed from a server malfunction, which caused delays in restoring full functionality. “Our teams have resolved the server issue, and we’ve implemented measures to prevent similar disruptions in the future,” Sky noted in the statement. The company also considered factors such as customer feedback, service reliability, and system performance in its response to the outage.

Sky apologised for the inconvenience, acknowledging the importance of reliable access to entertainment and connectivity. “We understand how vital our services are to our customers’ daily lives, and we sincerely apologise for any disruption caused,” the statement added. The company confirmed that no further action is required from customers, as all services, including broadband, Sky Q, and streaming apps, are now fully operational.
