Skydiver dies after parachute failed to open as his friends watched in horror

We all know somebody who jumped out of an airplane, mostly when they’re in Australia or New Zealand, but let’s hope this never happens to them!

It must be every skydivers nightmare, to have your parachute fail to open when you are in freewill towards Earths surface. According to the Metro, that’s what happened to one professional skydiver at the weekend.

Last weekend, Russian national Dimitri Didenkoa (30) was performing a solo wing suit jump at Jurien Bay in Perth, Australia during the Virtual Nationals Skydiving Competition but his parachute failed to open.
Mr Didenkoa had more than 6000 jumps completed.
Sadly, Mr Didenkoa died at the scene.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority and the Australian Parachute Federation will carry out an investigation into exactly what happened.
