The incident happened in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States.
A small aircraft crashed into a house, causing a fire that soon spread to two other properties. The crash happened less than a mile from Montgomery County Airpark.
Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer could not say whether there were people inside the houses, or how many may have been injured or killed.
Fire crews brought the blaze under control and then began a search and rescue operation.
A National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigator will be dispatched to the crash site.
