Small town within the Arctic Circle reports a temperature of 38C, the highest ever recorded

A small town sited within the Arctic Circle has reported its highest temperature on record, 38C.

Average temperatures for this time of year in the small Siberian town of Verkhoyansk barely reach 20C. Reaching almost 40C in Siberia, even in the height of summer, was previously unthinkable.

Scientists are blaming a combination of natural weather patterns and man-made global warming for this occurrence.
