
A Sniffer dog for the Irish customs and Excise has found €38,370 in cash on male passenger as he disembarked from a french ferry in Rosslare Europort over the weekend.
The dog discovered the cash on the person and in the luggage of the man who is believed to be a Polish national in his 30s. The cash was seized as part of an operation which was in accordance with the proceeds of crime legislation.
Gorey District Court granted a three month detention order to carry out further investigation in respect of the cash.
