Met Eireann has issued a nationwide snow warning, as lows of -4C are expected tonight.
The warning will come into effect at 11pm tonight and remain in place until at least midday tomorrow, Sunday.
A second alert for low temperatures will also be in place from 8pm to 10am tomorrow.
The national forecaster is warning of icy conditions on the roads, which might lead to treacherous driving conditions overnight and in early morning.
Motorists are advised to take extreme care, especially on B roads where snow and ice will be prevelant. Salt-trucks are out spreading salt on the main roads.
