Bookies seem confident that there’s no chance of snow this Christmas.
BoyleSports are offering odds of 1/12 that it will not snow this Christmas Day. The bookmakers have Cork as 4/1; Belfast at 5/1; and Dublin at 11/2.
Spokesman Liam Glynn said: “In the past few days we have seen the temperatures plummet, but it doesn’t look good for a white Christmas in Ireland as it’s odds on at 1/12 that it won’t snow on December 25.
“Residents in Cork currently have a better chance of seeing snow on Christmas Day than in Dublin as it’s 4/1 that the Rebel city will record snow on Christmas Day.”
Don’t cancel the snow boot orders yet though. Met Eireann will issue their official forecast in December, one week before Christmas.
