Snow on the way: Met Eireann issue yellow status snow and ice warning as temperatures are expected to plummet




Ireland could very well see its first dusting of snow in the next few hours as temperatures across the country are set to plummet.

In what is expected to be a bitterly cold week ahead, Met Eireann say some snowfall could occur overnight particularly in Northern areas.

According to The national forecaster temperatures this week are to bitterly cold and a yellow status snow and ice warning will be in place from 6am tomorrow until 6pm on Saturday February 2nd.

It is expected that there will be an accumulation of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday, whilst further showers are expected on Thursday.

Meanwhile temperatures are expected to be bitterly cold overnight with low’s of -5C.
