Snow way! Weather expert claims ‘wintry showers’ will return to Ireland very soon




Next week is expected to see a dip in temperatures, with Met Eireann and other weather experts predicting the possibility of wintry showers at some points, reports The Mirror.

It’s going to get chilly starting on Thursday, February 22, following a fair amount of time spent moderate and unruly. This will align with the potential for wintry snow or sleetfall over elevated terrain.

A plume of cooler northern maritime air is expected to move into Ireland from the North Atlantic, causing a dip in temperature, reports The Mirror.

What to anticipate this next week has been revealed by weather specialist Alan O’Reilly, who runs the dependable @CarlowWeather account on X, previously Twitter.

He posted: “Mild again Sunday with some showers in the East but then a nice bright afternoon for most. Staying mild but unsettled for a few days with risk of heavy rain a Tuesday night,” he posted, reports The Mirror.

A spokesperson for Met Eireann said: “An unsettled weather regime is forecast during this period with a strong zonal air-flow allowing numerous Low-Pressure systems to track near Ireland,” reports The Mirror.
