The Social Democrat party has announced its intention of tabling a motion of no confidence in Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy next week.
Party members said that the main reason for this move is that the housing crisis has grown steadily worse under Mr. Murphy’s tenure, and has reached ‘national emergency’ status.
The official figure offered by the Government puts homelessness at 10,000, but charities and other sources have rubbished such claims, saying that the real figure is probably closer to 15,000.
This is the second time that a motion of no confidence is tabled against Mr. Murphy during his disastrous tenure as Housing Minister.
