Social media goes crazy after a U.S. woman uploads a shocking photo showing her dog with its mouth taped shut




There is wide spread controversy on social media recently as a U.S. woman is admist of a police investigation after she posed disgraceful and cruel photo on Facebook showing her dog with its mouth taped shut.

The shocking photo of which has been shared over 80,000 times and has sparked widespread complaints from 44 US states and even other countries. The woman at the centre of the animal cruelty Katie Brown from South Daytona, Florida, has come in for a string of criticisms after she posted the image on Facebook with the caption: “This is what happens when you don’t shut up.” “I can’t lie, I did it for sixty seconds. It was time out and no more barking,” she added.

The post became viral in less than 24 hours, with a whole host of animal lovers condemning Katie for what she had done, the shocking image even spread as far as Australia with one Australian resident even contacting the US police department about the case. The shocking story has seemed become to much for the South Daytona Police Department as they have been inundated with calls alerting them to the animal cruelty, which has caused them to issue a statement calling on the public to stop contacting them about the photo and say they were currently investigating it.

The Police Department posted this message on their Facebook page which read: “You can help us out by not sending further messages,” said the department. “Be assured that there is an active animal cruelty investigation in progress.” Meanwhile the department’s telecommunications supervisor Marirma Perez said they had received calls, “from 44 states, three provinces, and as far away as Australia.” She also added: “Dispatch has been FLOODED with calls also!! We are aware and law enforcement is investigating it.”
