A Somali born Journalist has travelled from her adopted country of Canada back to her native homeland to document the beauty and safety of the country and was promptly killed by terrorists.
Somali-Canadian journalist Hodan Nalayeh returned to her country of origin to dispel Western ideas that the country is somehow unsafe but was killed in a suicide bombing and gun attack on the Asasey Hotel in the town of Kismayo.
The country which has been in failed state status for decades is wracked with violence from Muslim terrorist groups such as Al-Shabab and warring tribes and factions.
Nalayeh and her husband Farid Jama Suleiman were among 26 people killed in the attack that left at least 50 others wounded.
The Islamist group Al-Shabab later took credit for the atrocity.
