The most hated company in the history of the State, Irish Water, have today confirmed that some of its contractors are resorting to covering up the company’s signs on their vans while they read meters, or carry out work on its behalf. Irish Water have said that the logos are covered on a “case by case” basis.

A video recently emerged where two Drogheda residents challenge a GMC Sierra contractor, who has his van’s signs covered. In the video, the man says that he is reading meters. The two residents ask why the signs are covered, but receive no answer. The worker eventually leaves the area.

The company then confirmed that the decision to cover the vehicle’s signs is taken when there is concern over the health and safety of the staff.
