The gaming industry is gearing up for the latest round of ‘Console Wars’ this November, with Sony’s Playstation 5 and Microsoft’s XBox Series X to both have the same price tag of around 500 Euro.
According to the BBC, the PS4 was significantly cheaper than the XBox 1 in the last battle of the console giants, which led to a two to one ratio in sales in Sony’s favour. The Japanese company has traditionally outsold its American rival, but this year analysts have predicted that the two entertainment titans could be more equal in revenue.
Sony’s PS5 digital edition, which lacks a disc drive, will be 40% more than the lower end XBox Series S which could convert some Sony fans to Microsoft.
The Playstation 5 will boast exclusive titles, including the latest installments of the Final Fantasy and Spiderman game franchises. It will hit the shelves on November 19th, shortly after the XBox Series X which fans can buy from November 10th.
