Spain holiday nightmare as two tourists die in separate falls

A teenage tourist has died after plunging from the third floor of a hotel in Spain. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the San Antonio area of Ibiza, reports The Mirror.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene but were sadly unable to save the 19-year-old.

Authorities have confirmed the teen was a British citizen, and the Civil Guard is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall, reports The Mirror.

This latest incident is the second fatal fall involving a British holidaymaker in San Antonio within a fortnight. On July 7, a 25-year-old man passed away in hospital following a fall from a supermarket car park the previous day.

Emergency teams responded and transported him to intensive care, where his death was later confirmed. A statement read: “Regrettably and despite all the efforts of medical personnel, the patient who fell yesterday in San Antonio has died due to the severity of his injuries,” reports The Mirror.

He has been identified as 26-year-old Evan Thomson from Aberdeen, Scotland. He had been on holiday celebrating his birthday with friends when the accident occurred.

Evan’s mother, Lel Kellighan, posted the devastating news on social media, writing: “I’m absolutely heartbroken to write and tell you all, earlier this week my son Evan was in a tragic accident whilst on holiday with his friends in Ibiza and sadly passed away. We are all absolutely broken. Please allow us some time,” reports The Mirror.
