Authorities in Spain have issued an international alert after a total of 150 people have been affected by the current listeria outbreak.
The warning comes after a 90-year-old woman from Seville, sadly died from the infection.
The outbreak which has been described as the country’s biggest ever, has now led to authorities to put out an international alert.
It is believed that the country’s Health Ministry have issued an alert to the World Health Organisation and EU officials.
Although they are still trying to determine the source of the outbreak, authorities say the vast majority of the cases were recorded in Andalusia, close to a pork packaging facility which is linked to the outbreak.
The Spanish Health Ministry say a further 523 suspected cases of listeria are under review.
Meanwhile they adedd that over half of the original number admitted to hospital are still receiving treatment.
