Special Brew: Government formally approve plans that will allow breweries to sell their products on site 




There was good news for breweries this afternoon as the Cabinet has formally approved a new legislation that will allow them to sell their product on site.

The new law which was backed Labour’s Alan Kelly, will now mesan breweries will have to fight Ito sell craft beers and spirits between the hours of 10am and 6pm 

Altough the new legislation is not yet official it is expected to pass through Oreachtas in the coming weeks ahead.

The move has been heavily backed by those involved in the drinks industry as the current system of needimg a pub licence to sell their products was deemed to expensive and difficult to obtain.

Under the new rules breweries will only be able to distribute alcohol to visitors after they complete a guided tour.
