Spring is over for now, as Met Eireann predicts cold temperatures and even snow on high ground this week

The recent spell of Spring-like weather is coming to a crashing end this week, as Met Eireann is predicting cold temperatures and the odd snowfall on high ground.

Today, Monday, will remain relatively calm and mild, with temperatures reaching 13C at times.

It’s all going downhill overnight though, as hail and sleet showers are set to come in from the west. Lows of 0C are likely across many areas.

It won’t get any better on Tuesday, as wintry showers are predicted throughout the day.

The outlook is for a rather cold and unsettled week, with cold temperatures and a mix of sunshine and heavy showers.
