Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for a number of counties, as strong winds with gusts of up to 95km/h are expected.
The warning covers counties Galway, Kerry, Mayo, and Clare, and will remain in effect until 6pm on Friday evening.
Heavy rain will also blight the country throughout the day, so extreme caution on the roads is advised.
Temperatures are expected to rise to 14-15C over the weekend, but rain is likely to continue.
