A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for 17 counties amidst horrendous weather conditions.
The warning, which covers counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, and Sligo, will be in place until noon today.
According to the national forecaster, strong southeasterly winds might pose a hazard for a time.
