Steel manufacturing giant British Steel has collapsed into administration, putting as many as 25,000 jobs at risk.
The move comes on foot of a £30m bailout loan that failed to materialize.
Up to 4,500 jobs may be immediately gone at the firm’s main facility in Scunthorpe, with a further 20,000 potentially at risk among suppliers and other ancillary industries.
