Twi-hards are overjoyed that Stephanie Meyer has released a new novel to mark the 10th anniversary of the Twilight series.

The novel, Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined was released this week. The storyline has shocked its readers. It was rumoured that there would be a plot twist but nobody could have imagined what would actually happen within the pages.

In this special edition novel, Stephanie Meyer switches the genders of the main two characters. Edward and Bella have their genders re-imagined. Edward is called Edythe Cullen and is now a girl. Bella is called Beau Swan and is now a boy.

Speaking about the news, she said: “It’s the same story but a new version of it. Bella is Beau and Edward is Edythe. It starts out very similar… It’s just a love story, it doesn’t matter who’s the boy and who’s the girl, it still works out,” she added saying that it bothered her that Bella was seen as a damsel in distress.
