“Stop treating us like animals and thugs and start treating us with some respect” – NYPD cop hits out at the media

The President of the New York Police Benevolent Association, Mike O’Meara, has gave an emotive speech demanding that NYPD officers “stop being treated by animals” and that they be treated with respect.

Mr O’Meara said that idea being portrayed in the media that black mothers are afraid of their sons being shot coming home from school by a policeman is nonsensical saying “that does not happen” and asking “what world are we living in” to express his incredulity at the situation.

The veteran cop held his badge aloft during his speech and said that it “still has a shine on it” and “so do theirs” referencing to the policemen assembled behind him.

Speaking to the media the President of the NYPD Benevolent Association said, “stop treating us like animals and thugs and start treating us with some respect”.

US police have been subject to ceaseless attacks from the media and from Democratic politicians while they are struggling to contain violent riots and mobs since the death of convicted criminal George Floyd with some Democratic lawmakers even entertaining the idea of defunding them.
