Met Eireann has issued a Status Red weather warning for two counties as the approaching weather system poses ‘danger to life.’
Storm Barra brings wind speeds of up to 140km/h and very heavy rains. Disruption to power grids is widely expected.
The Status Red warning will be in place for counties Kerry and Cork between 6am and 9pm on Tuesday.
