We’re in for a very stormy, rainy and possibly even snowy weekend.

Met Eireann has announced that awful weather conditions over the next 72 hours are forecast, as Storm Ciara arrives with snow, hail, and winds of up to 110km/h.

Two nationwide Status Yellow weather warnings will come into effect on Saturday.

The entire country has been issued with a Status Yellow weather warning while western counties have been issued with a Status Orange weather warning.

Met Eireann has also warned of the likelihood of coastal flooding due to the combination of Spring tides and heavy rain, particularly along southern, western and northwestern coasts.

Today, Friday, will remain relatively calm, with showery rain later in the day. Conditions will deteriorate significantly by Saturday evening however, leading into a very wet and windy Sunday.

The start of next week is not looking any better either, with very cold and wet weather predicted.

People have been asked to be extremely careful on coastal areas and when out and about. People are advised to share this information with your friends.
