About 4,000 customers lost their power supply as the storm swept across Ireland. ESB crews are still working this evening in an effort to restore electricity.
The weather system caused major disruption to air travel also; some inbound flights into Dublin airport were delayed, and services in Shannon Airport also experienced problems.
Conditions are set to ease down as the storm moves away throughout the night.
