Storm Eleanor wasn’t bluffing – she made her mark on 50,000 homes over the night leaving them without power and has caused many fallen trees and widespread flash flooding.
Counties Galway, Limerick and Cork received the worst of her offering with a national status Orange weather alert issued for motorists due due to winds of up to 130klm and heavy rains.
The weather warning will remain in place until 9pm tonight, and a Yellow Warning will remain nationwide for rain.
Gusts of wind of up to 130km/h are expected in places. Motorists are advised to proceed with extreme caution today again.
