The national forecaster is this afternoon recommending ‘extreme caution’ as Storm Ellen is about to slam onto Ireland.
Very strong winds of up to 130km/h and torrential downpours are expected, prompting the issuing of two weather warnings.
Storm Ellen is expected to arrive in Ireland late on Wednesday evening and rage through the night.
