The beast from the east storm Emma certainly lived up to both of their names and, to be fair, Met Eireann proved themselves right on this occasion.
But we’re not out of the woods (or the snow) yet. The national weather forecaster claims we’re in for more heavy snow today, especially in eastern and south eastern counties.
Temperatures will be down to -3c inland with snow turning to sleet in areas as the day goes along.
It’s understood no thaw will begin as of yet but it will happen when temperatures begin to slightly rise and snow finally stops falling.
