ESB crews are working double time this morning to restore power to about five thousand homes and business around Cork, Kerry and Limerick left in the dark by Imogen’s wrath.
There are also reports of fallen power lines in parts of Cork city, after wind gusts of up to 130km/h knocked down electricity infrastructure.
There are three weather warning in effect around the country today, as Imogen sweeps eastwards across Ireland.
Very high waves are expected along the southwest and west coast, so people are advised to stay away from coastal areas.
