The weather system named Jake pounced upon us without warning, blanketing areas of Ireland and the UK with snow overnight.
And this morning, a wind warning has been issued, as gale force winds will lash the country throughout the day.
The ‘Status Yellow Wind warning’ will remain in effect until 6pm this evening. Wind speeds of up to 110 km/h are expected.
The weather is expected to remain very unsettled over the next few days, with strong winds and heavy showers mixed with periods of sunshine.
