Storm Lorenzo – Met Eireann issue another status yellow weather warning for these counties for today

Met Eireann have issued another status yellow warning even though Storm Lorenzo wasn’t nearly as bad as they thought it would be.

The worst of Storm Lorenzo may have passed, but its tail end continues to hit Ireland with strong winds this afternoon.

Met Eireann has now issued a new Status Yellow weather warning for high winds, covering counties Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon and Clare.

There’s still danger around coastal areas as high waves continue to pose a threat of flooding or personal damage, so people are advised to stay away from shores until the seas are calmer.

The storm also caused power outages, with about 4,000 premises left in the dark in the wake of the storm.
